John J. Doherty, and was largely attended. There were many floral offerings, the coffin being covered with a pall of white roses and smilax. "Lord, Thou Art My Protector," was sung by Mrs. James Hughes, and "Lead Kindly Light,” by Miss Mary Smith. Burial was in St. Mary’s cemetery, the pallbearers being: B. C. Henley and E. H. Scott, from the Virginia Pilots’ Association: T. S. Fitzgibbons, B. J. Thompson, W. E. Doherty, B. D. Melcher, John Mariner, M. McKevitt, R. M. Eastwood, Henry Billups, P. J. Riley and O. J.
