In Memoriam: Died, on Sunday afternoon, August 27th, 1876, Miss Emma Louisa Curdts
Curdts, aged 19 years.
As the quiet, peaceful Sabbath day was drawing to a close and the church bells 
called God's people to prayer, the Angel of Death came and claimed the fairest a
and best beloved of the household, and the spirit which had hovered between l
life and death for so many days left the beautiful form and passed over the r
river.
"Not in wrath the Reaper came that day" because she was "His own" and "He careth
careth for His own" and would have them with Him.
Only nineteen years of life, so bright, so fair, so pure--yet who would murmur w
when we remember that "all things work together for good to those that love G
God."
On the Day of Rest came God's rest to the soul that had given itself to the Saviour
Saviour in the early morning of life, in the hours of health and activity; and 
when mind wandered and thought could not be controlled. He cared for that soul and
loved and took it to dwell with Him.
The family will weep and friends will mourn for the loved and lost, but the weeping
will not be without consolation, nor

we believe that the "voice from heaven" which the beloved disciple heard at
