Lieutenant Curling is the son of H. W. Curling, Sr., and the late Mrs. H. W. Curling. His wife was formerly Miss Agnes Louise Coleman. 5 VIRGINIANS LISTED MISSING IN ACTION The names of five Virginians were included in a list of 138 United States soldiers reported today by the War Department to be missing in action. Three of these were reported missing in the European theater of war. They are: Second Lieutenant Heywood W. Curling. Jr.; wife, Mrs. Agnes C. Curling, Norfolk. Staff Sergeant John L. Grubb; mother, Mrs. Josephine R. Grubb, Pulaski, and Staff Sergeant Jack K. Lewis; father, Artwin S. Lewis, Danville. Two were missing in action in the Southwest Pacific area. They are: Private Walter C. Foster; mother, Mrs. Tillie Place, Winchester. Private Stokey Matney; mother, Mrs. Maudie Matney, Hurley.
