Virginian-Pilot  June 23, 1885
We regret to have to announce the death of a well-known and most estimable young 
man, Mr. Edward J. Curtin, who died at the residence of his mother on Crawford 
street, last Sunday morning at 9:30 o'clock. He was for a good many years employed 
with Fiske & Bro., printers and afterward was a member of the firm of Wilder & 
Curtin. He withdrew from business on account of his bad health about a year ago, 
and has been confined to his bed almost six months with consumption. Deceased was 
a young man of excellent character and about 24 years of age. He leaves three 
sisters to mourn their loss.
