A native of Fentress, Norfolk County, he had lived in Fentress and Portlock all of his life. He was retired from the maintenance department of the Norfolk County school system. He was a son of Herbert D. Curtis Sr. and Mrs. Essie Marie McCormick Curtis. He was singer and a member St. Matthews Catholic Church. He is survived by three brothers, William S. Curtis, Herbert D. Curtis Jr., and James W. (Babe) Curtis, all of Portlock, and nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Graham Funeral Home by the Rev. Lewis J. Berry of St. Matthews Catholic Church. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
