Norfolk Journal and Guide,Saturday,May 21,1938
Mrs. Esther Custis died at her home, 1329 Chapel Street. Her funeral was
conducted by the Rev. R. H. Bowling and the Rev. W. L. Hamilton at the Shiloh
Baptist Church. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery. She is survived by one son
and one daughter-in-law. Norfolk Funeral Home, D. W. Simmons, undertaker, had
charge of the body.
