Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark

Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Cuthrell, aged 56 years and five months, wife of John 
Cuthrell, died suddenly at 10:45 o'clock yesterday morning at the family 
residence, 32 Rodgers street, South Norfolk.  Mrs. Cuthrell was a lifelong 
resident of this side of the river.  She was a daughter of the late W.F. and 
Mrs. Martha Moye Jones, of this city.
Besides her husband Mrs. Cuthrell is survived by the following children:  
John Enos Cuthrell, Jesse E. Cuthrell, Mrs. W.M. Townsend, Roy Cuthrell, 
Miss Mary Cuthrell, of South Norfolk and Mrs. H.W. West, of Emporia, Va.; 
two sisters, Mrs. F.M. Mercer, South Norfolk and Mrs. W.M. Edwards, of 
Portlock.
The deceased was a member of the First Christian Church and held in the 
highest esteem by a host of friends.
The funeral will be conducted in the First Christian Church at 3 o'clock 
Thursday afternoon by the pastor, Rev. E.B. Flory, assisted by Rev. O.D. 
Poythress, pastor of the South Norfolk Christian Church.  Burial will be in 
the family lot in Magnolia Cemetery.
