Virginian-Pilot September 22, 1912
Mrs. Mary E. Cuthriell, widow of Dr. George W. Cuthriell, passed away at the home 
of her son-in-law, S. H. Tompkins, Delaware avenue, East Fairmount Park, at 2:30 
o’clock yesterday afternoon after an illness of only two days. Mrs. Cuthriell was 
an active secretary of the Ladies’ Union of that church. She is survived by an 
only daughter, Mrs. S. H. Tompkins. The funeral will be held at the residence of 
Mr. Tompkins at 4 o’clock this afternoon and will be conducted by her pastor, Rev. 
Vernon I’Anson, and Rev. T. W. Croxton of Fairmount Baptist church. The interment 
will be in Elmwood cemetery.
