Mr. Dalby, although a very young man, has been long a victim to consumption, and has been for months past unable to work. He was a native of this city, learning his trade in one of our city offices, and has worked here and in New York city. He was an honored member of the Norfolk Typographical Union, No. 86, and that body attended the funeral yesterday afternoon from the residence of his father, No. 108 Fenchurch street. The funeral was largely attended, and many friends followed the remains to their last resting place. The Norfolk City Guard, of which deceased, while in life was a member, also turned out under the command of Lieut. Robert Freeman, in token of respect for the memory of their departed brother-in-arms, and, to the sound of martial music, accompanied the remains to the grave. We knew the deceased well and can say of him that in all respects he was a good man, and one eminently entitled to the respect and confidence of his surviving comrades, and we knew of none who will be more deeply and earnestly regretted. We tender our heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family in their loss.
