Virginian-Pilot August 31, 1923
Mrs. Mary V. Dancy, 59 years old, wife of Thomas Dancy, died at the residence, 309 
West Twenty-eighth street, last night at 8:30 o’clock. Mrs. Dancy is survived by 
one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Davenport, of Norfolk; three sisters, Mrs. Susie E. 
Mattox, of Portsmouth, and Mrs. Alice L. Deal and Mrs. Lawrence A. Lathrop, both 
of Norfolk, two brothers, A. J. Glover, of Norfolk, and F. M. Glover, of Florida. 
The body will be taken from the funeral apartments of V. H. Smith, Olney road and 
Manteo street, to the above residence, where the funeral will be held tomorrow 
afternoon at 3 o’clock. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
