Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark December 29,1912

                         CAPTAIN LUTHER DANIELS

Captain Luther Daniels, 42 years old, died last evening at his residence, 
610 Berkley Avenue, after an illness of several weeks.  He was a native of 
North Carolina, but had been living in Virginia nine years.
He was well known among the tugboat men.  He is survived by a widow, Mrs. 
Mollie Purvis Daniels; two daughters, Inez and Irene, and one son, Roscoe 
Daniels.  He was a son of the late Jeffie and Mrs. Polly Swindell Daniels of 
Hyde County, N.C.
The funeral will be conducted from the residence Monday afternoon at 3 
o'clock.  Rev. J.M. Roberts, pastor of the First Christian Church, will 
conduct the services.  Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.  Tidewater 
Council, No. 30 Jr. O.U.A.M., of which Captain Daniels was a member, has 
been called out in a body to attend the funeral.
