Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Friday, August 16, 1991
Joseph Fate Darden Sr., of the 2800 block of E. Virginia Beach Blvd., a retired
merchant seaman, died Aug. 13, 1991, in a Virginia Beach hospital.

Mr. Darden was born in Ahoskie. He had retired after 41 years and was also a
Coast Guard veteran. He was a Baptist and a member of Sahara Shrine Temple 2,
Ezeciec Royal Arch Chapter 6 and Royal Consistory 9. He was the widower of
Lucille Mary Frances Darden.

Survivors include a daughter, Montrose D. Wood of Virginia Beach; a son,
Eltrentrose L. Darden of Baltimore; eight grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Hale Funeral Home. Burial will be in
Calvary Cemetery . Friends may join the family at 809 Edwin Drive, Virginia Beach.
