Mr. Dashiell was taken sick with the grippe last Friday night, after he had spent the day at his business, and continued to grow worse until pneumonia developed Monday when his condition became grave. Mr. Dashiell was born in Norfolk county, and had been a resident of Berkley fifty years, and had spent most of the time in the firearm and general hardware business in Union street, and was not only widely known in this city, but in the surrounding counties as well. He was a man of congenial disposition and readily endeared himself to the many people with whom his business brought him in contact. He was 63 years old and is survived by four sons, his wife having preceded him several years ago. The sons are G. Fred, D. Armstead, Harry W. and Gatewood Dashiell, and three daughters, Mrs. Herbert R. Foster of Kingston, Jamaica; Mrs. John Earl White and Mrs. Paul Hough, the latter two of Berkley. He was a son of the late Frederick and Mrs. Virginia Webb Dashiell of Norfolk county. The funeral will take place at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, in which he has held his membership since its organization, Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. The services will be conducted by Rev. James D. Gibson, rector of the church, and will be assisted by Rev. A.W. Shaw, pastor of Armstrong Memorial Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
