The Virginian Pilot Sunday February 25, 1968
Mrs. Elsie Marion Rowe Davenport, 75, of 122 W. Leicester Ave. died Saturday 
at 8:30 a.m. in a hospital.
A native of London, England, she was a daughter of George S. and Mrs. 
Alberta Susiemiel Rowe and the widow of Henry Stephen Davenport.
She was a member of Episcopal Church of the Advent and lived here 17 years.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Milton Holman, Mrs. Birch V. 
Ambrose, and Mrs. Walter H. Hilderbrand of Norfolk; a sister, Miss Doris A. 
Rowe and a brother, Stanley G. Rowe, both of London; 11 grandchildren; and 
two great-grandchildren.
The body will be taken from Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, Chesapeake, to 
Episcopal Church of the Advent for a funeral service Monday at 2 p.m. by the 
Rev. Herbert H. Smith Jr.  Cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the 
memorial fund of the church.
