Virginian Pilot Thursday Sept. 8, 1960
Norfolk - Miss Althea M. Davenport, 77, of 715 Johnson Ave. died Tuesday at her 
home after a long illness.

She was a daughter of George W. and Mrs. Margaret K. Davenport and was a native 
of Norfolk.  She had been employed as a clerk at the Tents Hall for 25 years and 
was a member of United Order of Tents.  She also belonged to Bank Street Baptist 
Church.

Surviving are one sister, Miss Louise B. Davenport, and two brothers, Harold 
Davenport and Eugene Davenport, all of Norfolk.

The body was taken to B. F. King Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be 
conducted at Bank Street Baptist Church Saturday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. J. B. 
Henderson, pastor.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
