Norfolk Ledger Dispatch October 5, 1907 
 

Charles A. Davenport died at the Norfolk Protestant Hospital last evening after 
a month’s illness, aged 50 years. He leaves his wife and three children, Nelson 
Davenport, and Miss Nellie Davenport of Norfolk, and Frederick Davenport of 
Seattle, Wash. He was timekeeper at the Old Dominion Steamship docks. The 
funeral will take place at 3 p.m. tomorrow from his late residence on 
Rappahannock Avenue, Lambert’s Point. Rev. E. P. Miner of St. Mark’s Episcopal 
Church, Lambert’s Point and Rev. A. C. Thomson of Trinity Episcopal Church, 
Portsmouth, officiating. The Pythians will attend.
