Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, November 28, 2002 
Charles Clifton Davenport of Mount Vernon Avenue, died Nov. 23, 2002, at a local
hospital. He was born in Norfolk to the late Margaret Jones Davenport Craft and
the late Charles C. Davenport Sr. He was a truck driver for Dillard's department
store.

He is survived by his wife, Alpha A. Davenport; a daughter, Tawana Davenport; a
son, Charles C. Davenport III, both of Portsmouth; four sisters, Hazel Sweat,
Le'Faye Winn, Vanessa Whitehurst and Margaret Bell all of Norfolk; a brother,
Lawrence R. Craft of Norfolk; a grandchild, Clorissa N. Davenport of Portsmouth;
and a special father, Lawrence A. Craft.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Graves Funeral Home Chapel by the
Rev. H. Carlyle Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery .
