The Norfolk Virginian Pilot April 13, 1945
Mrs. Emily Harris Davies, 80, widow of the late Charles Davies, died yesterday 
at 10 p.m. following a recent illness at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.H. 
Ackiss, Jr., of 7009 Park Drive, Newport News, where she had been making her 
home for the past 10 years. She was a native of Swansea, South Wales, and a 
member of Christ and Saint Luke's Church, Norfolk.
Besides Mrs. Ackiss, her survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Devoto, of 
Richmond; a son, C.R. Davies, of Norfolk, and six grandchildren and one great-
granddaughter.
The body was removed to the Gregory Funeral Home.
