The Virginian Pilot Tuesday March 31, 1981
Sherwood Nathaniel Davis of 1015 Elkin St., husband of Mrs. Beatrice C. Davis 
and a native of Norfolk County, died Sunday in Hampton Veterans Hospital.
He was a son of Mrs. Lily Davis and retired from the Postal Service in Norfolk 
after 27 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Other survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Paulette L. Jones of Norfolk, Mrs. 
Sherry B. Reid of Chesapeake, and Mrs. Coraleen F. Braxton of Missouri; two 
sons, Robert C. Davis III and Fleetwood N. Dais of Norfolk; a brother, Cecil T. 
Davis Sr. of Chesapeake; and eight grandchildren.
A funeral will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in First Baptist Church, Campostella, 
by the Rev. Harold Cason Sr. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with Fitchett 
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
