Davis, aged 28 years, husband of Mrs. Irene Jochim Davis and son of the late Jackson and Mrs. Maggie Ashberry Davis, died at a local hospital last night at 8:15 o'clock. He was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk. Besides his wife he is survived by five sisters, Mrs. Charles Bibb, Mrs. Louis Bibb, Mrs. Ralph Sturgis, Mrs. T.J. Murphy and Mrs. P.E. Warner; two brothers, A.J. and A.W. Davis and a number of nieces and nephews, all of Norfolk. The body was take to H.D. Oliver's Funeral Apartments, 610-612 East Freemason Street, pending funeral arrangements. Changed William to middle initial C. and age to 28 per tombstone and death certificate. Davis.—Funeral services for Mr. Davis, whose death occurred Monday, were held yesterday afternoon at H. D. Oliver’s Funeral Apartments with the Rev. A. Preston Campbell, of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, officiating. There was a large attendance and many floral offerings. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Pallbearers were M. E. Savage, D. F. Duley, A. J. Paul, J. O. Hare, L. O. Tatem, F. L. Godfrey, T. J. Fentress and R. L. Wood. The casket was covered with a pall of Easter lilies, carnations and fern.
