Virginian Piot and The Norfolk Landmark September 25, 1931

Mrs. Lillie Mae Davis, aged 53 years, wife of Horatio Davis and daughter of the 
late Jeanette and Thomas K. Starkey, died at 1:15 o'clock yesterday morning at the 
residence, 231 Thirty-second Street. She was a native and lifelong resident of 
Norfolk. Besides her husband she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ada Atkinson and 
Mrs. Herbert S. Jones; three brothers, John T. Cox, William H. and Thomas S. 
Starkey and her stepmother, Mrs. Georgia Starkey. Funeral services will be held at 
the above residence tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock with the Rev. L.E. Smith, 
D.D., pastor of the Christian Temple, officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood 
Cemetery.
