The Virginian Pilot Monday November 4, 1968
Cleveland Aubrey Davis, 83, of 4113 Thalia Drive, the husband of the late 
Mrs. Lossie Banks Davis and a son of James Edward and Mrs. Elizabeth Vincent 
Davis, died in a Norfolk hospital Sunday at 12:25 a.m.
A native of Petersburg, he lived in the Tidewater area 80 years.  He was a 
member of Thalia Methodist Church and a 50 year honorary member of Ruth 
Masonic Lodge 89.
He retired as a Navy electrical engineer at Newport News Shipbuilding & Dry 
Dock Co., after 30 years.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Davis Sterling of Virginia 
Beach; a brother, W. Leon Davis of Norfolk, and a grandson, William L. 
Sterling of Virginia Beach.
A funeral service will be conducted in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, in 
Norfolk Tuesday at 3 p.m. by the Rev. William L. Asher of Thalia Methodist 
Church.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
