Funeral services for Mrs. Nettie Estelle Davis were conducted April 2 at 2 p.m. 
from Bethlehem Baptist Church by the pastor, the Rev. J. Q. A. Lassiter.

Mrs. Davis died Mar 28 at her residence, 1233 Marshall avenue.  She was 
president of the Missionary Circle, president of the Pastors Aid Society and a 
member of the Gospel Choir of the church.

Surviving are her husband, Charles A. Davis, Sr;  two daughters, Mrs. Vivian 
Cartwright, and Mrs. Alberta Hobson, of Norfolk;  two sons, Elder Charles A. 
Davis, Jr. of New York City and Captain Preston A. Davis, Ft. Sills, OK, U.S. 
Army;  two sisters, Mrs. Cora Smith, of Boston MA and Mrs. Minnie Wilson of 
Norfolk and ten grandchildren.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Graves Funeral Home in charge.

(Note: per death certificate name is Mattie Estelle Davis, not Nettie)
