Virginian-Pilot May 17, 1901
All that was mortal of the late Mr. C. A. Davis was laid to rest in Elmwood 
cemetery yesterday afternoon. The funeral was held from the Freemason Street 
Baptist church, of which the deceased for many years had been a prominent 
member. The services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. Dr. J. J. Taylor, 
assisted by Rev. E. B. Hatcher, of the First Baptist church.
Following were the pallbearers;
Active—T. J. Nottingham, W. M. Grubb, T. A. Woodward, Dr. M. R. Allen, W. F. 
Robinson, John B. Jenkins, L. T. Roberts.	
Honorary—L. Royster, Geo. W. Dey, Judge M. L. Eure, Dr. L. Lankford, M. M. 
Winston, Dr. R. D. Kibler, J. L. Bunting, W. A. Wrenn.
The floral designs were numerous and beautiful.
