Norfolk Landmark September 13, 1898
Miss Eliza Davis, a most estimable lady, died at the residence of her sister, Mrs. 
Cooke, in Bute street, Sunday morning at 11 o’clock after a lingering illness. The 
funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Dr. M. B. Wharton, were held at the 
residence yesterday. They were private, none but members of the family being 
present. The interment was in Elmwood Cemetery, relatives acting as pallbearers.
