Virginian-Pilot February 1, 1970
NORFOLK - Mrs. Freda Selden Davis, 87, of 1006 Manteo St., Apt. 11, died in a 
hospital Saturday at 11:15 a.m.
She was a native of Prince Edward County and lived in Norfolk most of her life.
She was the widow of Capt. William A. Davis and a daughter of Decatur Howard and 
Mrs. Virgie Booker Selden.
She was a member of Old St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Melvin E. Cruser of Norfolk; and two nephews, 
Melvin E. Cruser Jr. of Virginia Beach and Dr. Fred S. Cruser of Salem.
The body will be taken from Cox Funeral Home to Old St. Paul’s Episcopal Church 
for a funeral service today at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Walton W. Davis. Burial will 
be in Elmwood Cemetery.
