Norfolk Landmark April 26, 1898
The funeral of the venerable Mr. James Davis took place from Spurgeon Memorial 
Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock. The services were conducted by the 
Rev. L. R. Christie, assisted by the Rev. R. H. Bennett, of McKendree M. E. 
Church, and the Rev. Lloyd Williams, of Trinity Methodist Church. The interment 
was in Elmwood Cemetery.
