DAVIS, JAMES EDWARD “CAPT. JIMMIE” - At the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Paul 
L. Bryan, Sr., 511 New York avenue, Sunday afternoon, March 28, 1943, at 6:15 
o’clock, JAMES EDWARD “CAPT. JIMMIE” DAVIS, in the 83d year of his age. The body 
will be taken from the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home to the Brambleton Avenue 
Methodist Church for funeral services TUESDAY AFTERNOON, March 30, 1943, at 3:30 
o’clock. Friends of the family invited to attend. Burial will be in Elmwood 
Cemetery.
