Mr. Davis was 89 years of age and was perfectly well on Monday, being on the streets. He was formerly a real estate dealer but had retired to private life. Mr. Davis was a member of the First Baptist Church for sixty years and, at the time of his death, was senior deacon. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. J. G. Womble and Mrs. M. E. Elliott and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The funeral will take place at the First Baptist Church Friday afternoon at 3 o’clock.
