DEATH OF A YOUNG MAN
At 1:30 o’clock yesterday, Miles Davis, a young machinist, died at his mother’s 
residence, on Johnson avenue, Huntersville, after five weeks’ suffering with 
pneumonia. Young Davis was 21 years of age and lacked only a week of finishing his 
apprenticeship. He was a member of the Norfolk City Guard and of Norfolk Lodge, 
Jr. O.U.A.M. the funeral will take place from the Cumberland Street Baptist Church 
Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock.
