The Norfolk Virginian Pilot September 16, 1937
Jack Umber Davis, aged 46, husband of Myrtle Spangler Davis, died at his 
residence, 115 West Seventeenth street, yesterday morning at 12:10 o'clock.
Besides his wife he is survived by a son, Jack Robert Davis; a daughter, Miss 
Myrtle Ellen Davis, all of Norfolk; his father, Robert Davis, of Berwind, W. Va.; 
and a sister, Mrs. Elmer O. Coffman, of Roanoke. Mr. Davis was a native of 
Bluefield, W.Va., and had been a resident of Norfolk 21 years.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home tomorrow 
afternoon at 3 o'clock. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
