Mrs. Davis, widow of J.E. Causey Davis, was the daughter of the late Clayton and Jane Johnston Moore. She was a native of Martin County, N.C. but had been a resident of Princess Anne County for 40 years. Surviving her are a daughter, Mrs. L.S. Philhower; three sons, Dr. W.L. Davis, J.E. Clayton Davis and Russell B. Davis, all of Princess Anne County; a sister, Mrs. Ella Moore Paton, of Jamesville, N.C.; and seven grandchildren. Mrs. Davis was a member of the Lynnhaven Presbyterian Church and of the Virginia Beach Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. Funeral services for Mrs. Davis were conducted in the funeral chapel of James V. Derry, 1920 Colley avenue, yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. John L. Knight, pastor of the Lynnhaven Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial was in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Aubrey Grimes, Joseph Phelps, Russell Land, Lieut. Edward Smith, Wheeler Rodgerson, James Twiford, Wilburn F. Eastwood and Webster P. Sullivan.
