"Mac-Moma" Davis, 85, of the 1000 block of Bennington Road, died Sept. 10, 1998, in Virginia Beach. Born in Bessie Mines, Ala., she was the widow of Cecil Avery Canant and a Baptist. Survivors include one daughter, Candace Brado of Chula Vista, Calif.; two sons, John Frank Canant and his wife, Penny Canant, of Virginia Beach and Ken Andrews of Chesapeake; two sisters, Marie Wood of Birmingham, Ala., and Frances Saltz of New York; two grandchildren, Joe Canant and Leslie Canant, both of Chesapeake; two great-grandchildren, Marina Canant and Megan Maeang; special nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Ann Sadler. All services will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Beth Shalom Nursing Home or one's favorite charity.
