H. Davis, Suffering From Asthma, Sat Up To Sleep And Expired W.H. Davis, more than sixty years old, and a Confederate veteran, was found dead in his room sitting in a chair yesterday morning about 7 o'clock at the home of H.W. Farrell, in Eleventh Street. The deceased had been a sufferer from asthma about five years, a greater portion of which time he sat in a chair to sleep. The deceased was better known as "Button" Davis and on Memorial occasions was always found in rank, though very feeble during the last several years. He leaves a widow. He served through the entire four years of the strife between the states and ran away from home at the age of 13 to take part. FUNERAL OF W.H. DAVIS The funeral of the late W.H. Davis will take place this afternoon at 4 o'clock from the residence of H.W. Farrell, in Eleventh Street. Commander E.L. Cox, of Niemeyer-Shaw Camp, Confederate Veterans, requests that veterans assemble at his office today at 3 o'clock to attend the funeral in a body. The interment will be in the Confederate lot in Magnolia Cemetery.
