Norfolk Virginian Tuesday March 1, 1881

DAVIS - At one o'clock Sunday morning, February 27th 1881, LLOYD W. DAVIS, 
in the 43d year of his age.
His remains will arrive by the Bay Line steamer at half-past nine o'clock 
THIS (Tuesday) MORNING and landed at Boston wharf, for interment in Elmwood 
Cemetery.  Friends of the deceased and of his brother, M.L.T. Davis, are 
invited to attend the services at the grave.  Carriages will be provided at 
the wharf.

The funeral of Mr. Lloyd W. Davis, who died recently in Baltimore and whose 
remains were brought here for interment, took place at Elmwood Cemetery 
yesterday immediately after their arrival by the Bay Line.  The funeral 
services were conducted by Rev. A.C. Bledsoe, pastor of the Granby Street 
M.E. Church.  Messrs. A.J. Francis, J.T. Hargrove, T.A. Williams, D. Bell, 
D.S. Burwell, W.M. Hannah, W.R. Barham and Julian Russell acted as 
pallbearers.
