Norfolk - Maude Hamilton Davis, 94 of the 900 block of Hannah Street transcended 
from life to her heavenly home on August 29, 2014. She was the daughter of the 
late Arthur Henry Hamilton and the late Virgie Wolfe Hamilton. She worked at 
Norfolk Community Hospital and then transitioned to private duty nursing for a 
great many years. She was a member of Saint Mark RZUA Church. She married Melvin 
Junious Davis in 1940, and from that union four children were born, Melvin B. 
Davis (deceased) (Lisa), Eunice Delrese Davis Parker (Curtis), Carolyn Davis 
Guilford (Douglas-deceased) and Mabel Davis Larrimore (Donald). She also leaves 
to mourn four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews 
and a host of relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held, 11am, Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at St. Mark 
RZUA Church on Colonial Avenue. A viewing will be held, 4-6 pm, Tuesday at 
Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby St. Interment will be held at Calvary 
Cemetery, Norfolk, VA.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and hospice workers who took 
good care of her during her long convalescence at the hospital, and at home.
