CHESAPEAKE - John A. "Tony" Davis passed quietly and peacefully into eternal 
rest April 16, 2011. He was a native of Norfolk and the son of the late Benjamin 
Sr. and Arizona Higgs Davis. Mr. Davis retired from the Long Island Railroad 
System, where he received a commendation for his outstanding service and 
contributions. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army 
and a member of New Calvary Baptist Church. He leaves to cherish his precious 
memory sisters, Arizona D. Johnson and Hazel D. Johnson. He will also be sorely 
missed by several nieces and nephews, among them Irene McGlone and a host other 
relatives and friends. A funeral will be conducted Wednesday, April 27, at noon 
in New Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family 
will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. Riddick 
Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
