Davis of 1442 W. 44th St., the husband of Mrs. Leona E. Davis and a native of Farmville, died Thursday morning in a hospital. He was superintendent of service for the Lafayette Motor Hotel and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a trustee and member of the Male Chorus and Senior choir of First Baptist Church, Lamberts Point. He was a vice president of the Citizen's Advisory Committee, member of Excelsior Masonic Lodge 87, American Legion, the Board of Health, Welfare and Recreation, vice president of Lamberts Point Civic League, and president of Ore-E-Sempree. Also surviving are a daughter, Miss Ruth E. Davis of Norfolk, four sisters, Mrs. Ruth C. Peterson, Mrs. Gertrude D. Brown, Mrs. Irene B. Johnson of Baltimore and Mrs. Eleanor D. Hardy of Portsmouth. Also surviving are two brothers, Arthur Davis of Norfolk and Fulton Davis of Long Island, N.Y. A funeral service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in First Baptist Church, Lamberts Point, by the Rev. M.L. Williams. Burial with full military honors, will be in Calvary Cemetery. Hale Funeral Home has charge. The body will be in church at 10 a.m. Monday.
