Norfolk Journal and Guide, Saturday, Jun 27,1936
Mrs. Rosa Davis, 39, of 828 Landing street, died in her home on last Friday, and
her funeral was held at the Metropolitan A. M. E. Zion Church, with the Rev. E.
O. Cowan, officiating, on Monday.  She was born in Burgaw, NC, and has lived
here for 24 years.  She is survived by her husband,  Acie Davis, and two
brothers, George and Harrison Herring, two sisters, Mesdames Mary Peterson and
Mattie (last name is smeared).  She was a member of the Eastern Star and
Calanthe orders.  She was buried in Calvary Cemetery.
