The Virginian Pilot Friday November 8, 1974 


Miss Alice Lane Davis, 82, a Norfolk native and member of an old Norfolk 
family, died Wednesday in a hospital. She lived at 2333 Ballentine Blvd.

She was a daughter of M.L.T. and Mrs. Nannie Norfleet Davis. She lived many 
years in Gordonsville.

Survivors include four nephews, John Lamar Davis of Virginia Beach, W. A. Davis 
of Nashville, Tenn. and W. T. Hughes and M.L.T. Hughes of Danville; and 
grandnieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held today at 1 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery by the Rev. 
Roger C. Snyder. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments has charge,
