M. E. Church with the pastor, the Rev. H. B. Threadgill, officiating. Mrs. Davis' death came as a surprise to the majority of the Southside citizens who thought her greatly improved. She was a well known Southside figure having been born and reared in that section and took active parts in nearly all religious and civic affairs. In earlier years she served as a school teacher and was highly respected. During the service favorite hymns of the deceased were rendered by the choir. Remarks were made by the Rev. R. J. Alston, pastor of St. Marks Christian Church. The deceased is survived by her husband, R. C. Davis, a daughter, Mrs. Thelma Murray, and one son, Robert Davis. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery.
