DIED - At his residence, 1619 Lafayette Boulevard, Tuesday night, July 12, 
1938, at 11:20 o'clock, Capt. John James Davis, beloved husband of Mrs. Blanche 
Penman Davis. Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon, July 15, 
1938, at 3 o'clock, from the Derry Funeral Chapel, 1920 Colley Ave, corner 
Harrington. Friends of the family invited to attend. Burial Cedar Grove 
Cemetery [Norfolk].
