A native of Edenton, N.C., he was a son of the late William and Mrs. Mary Holloway Davis and the husband of Mrs. Elizabeth D. Davis. He was a deliveryman-salesman for Mama Kayer Baltimore Bakery and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Surviving, besides his widow, are three sons, Milton L. Davis, Fred A. Davis, and William P. Davis, of Norfolk; four stepsons John Durham, Steve Durham, and Jack Durham of Norfolk and Joseph Durham of New York; four daughters, Mrs. Caroline A. Phelps, Miss Mary E. Davis, Miss Alice L. Davis of Norfolk; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Clarice Williams of Baltimore; four brothers, John F. Holloway, William H. Davis and Eddie Davis of Norfolk and Farman L. Davis of Baltimore; and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth O. Green of Norfolk. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery with Chatman Funeral Home in charge. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral chapel.
