The funeral of Miss Martha D. Davis, age fifteen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac
J. Davis, 149 Chapel street, was held Friday January 19th, at W. C. Baker’s
Undertaking parlor. A beautiful sermon was delivered by Rev. C. M. Long assisted
by Rev. D. F. White. Solo by Miss Margaret Johnson. Pallbearers Messrs Henry F.
Floyd, L. Scott and F. Burton. There were many floral offerings. Among them were
designs from Malachi Lodge 136 A. F. & A. M., Lancaster Beneficial Association
and Norfolk and Western Coal Cleaners. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery. She
leaves to mourn their loss father, mother, two sisters, six brothers and a
number of relatives and friends.
