Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark March 27, 1915

Mrs. Eliza L. Davis, widow of C.A. Davis, died early yesterday morning at the 
residence of her son, C.E. Davis, 211 Grace Street. She was 81 years old and had 
been ill a week. She was a native of Mathews County, Va. and had lived in Norfolk 
fifty-eight years. She was highly regarded. She is survived by one son, C.E. Davis 
and seven grandchildren. The funeral will take place at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon 
from the residence and Rev. Sparks W. Melton, pastor of the Freemason Street 
Baptist Church, will conduct the services. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
