The Norfolk Virginian Pilot July 3, 1937
Miss Catherine E. Davis, daughter of the late William T. and Mrs. Sarah Cowling 
Davis, a native and former resident of Norfolk, died yesterday morning at 9:45 
o'clock at Wilmington, N.C.  Surviving are six nieces, Mrs. John N. Alexius, of 
Wilmington; Miss Louise Davis, Mrs. A.F. Bromm, Mrs. W.A. Wood and Mrs. James 
Lyons, of Norfolk, and Mrs. Edward Knox, of High Point, N.C.; two nephews, 
Clyde and H.K. Davis, of Norfolk.  Services will be held at H.D. Oliver's 
Funeral Apartments, 610-12 East Freemason street, Norfolk, this afternoon at 
3:30 o'clock, with the Rev. Thomas A. Smoot, D.D., pastor of Epworth M.E. 
Church, officiating.  Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
