Norfolk Virginian Friday October 6, 1893

Wednesday evening at 3 o'clock Mr. Wm. E. Davis died at his residence, on 
Kelley avenue, where the Ocean View railroad crosses.  He had been sick a 
number of weeks.  He had been married a year or two and he leaves a wife and 
one child.  His funeral will be preached from his residence this evening at 3 
o'clock, Rev. J.T. Whitley officiating.  Interment will be in Elmwood.
