Virginian Pilot April 20, 1900

Mr. Edward E. Davis died at the home of his family on Tenth street yesterday 
evening at 7 o'clock after a brief illness from pneumonia.  He leaves a widow, 
Mrs. Ida Davis and three children, two sons and a daughter.  The deceased was 
56 years old and was born in King and Queen County.  The funeral will be 
conducted from the residence Saturday morning at 11 o'clock, after which his 
remains will be interred in Magnolia Cemetery.
