Robert C. Davis III, 61, known to all as ``Sock,'' of the 1000 block of Elkin
St., died Aug. 4, 2003 in DePaul Medical Center. Robert was a native of Norfolk,
born Dec. 21, 1941 to Beatrice C. Davis and the late Robert C. Davis II. He was
employed by the Norfolk Naval Shipyard where he retired as a pipe fitter.

He is survived by his wife, Willie Mae Davis; one daughter, Beatrice Davis;
three sons, Troy Davis, Ryan Staton and Calvin Davis; three sisters, Paulette L.
Jones, Sherry Reid and Coraleen Braxton; one brother, Fleetwood D. Davis; and a
host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church, Campostella,
1510 Conoga St., Norfolk, by the Rev. Harold Cason Sr. Interment will be at
Calvary Cemetery , St. Julian Avenue, Norfolk. Family and friends will assemble
at 1015 Elkin St. one hour prior to the service for the procession. Metropolitan
