He was a native of Norfolk and the son of the late Caulbert W. and Mary L. Harper Davis. He was a retired longshoreman for International Longshoreman Association Local No. 1248 and was a member of First Baptist Church, Bute Street. Mr. Davis had also worked at the Center Shops on 21st Street, Norfolk, for 13 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II and the Korean conflict. Survivors include his wife, Elfreda (Delores) Durant Davis of the home; a daughter, Donna L. Davis Sharpe; a son, Caulbert W. Davis III; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He is also survived by an aunt, Geneva G. Revelle; and cousins, other relatives and friends. A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church, Bute Street, by Dr. Robert G. Murray. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Riddick Funeral Service. The body will be placed in the church at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. The family will be at his residence.
